Principles of Anesthesia
Course Synopsis: Varying types of anesthesia all play vital roles in dentistry. The purpose of this course is to discuss the different types of anesthesia, their history and how they can be implemented in the dental office. It will also discuss red flags hygienists can look for when recommending various types of sedation their patients might need.
Expanded Functions for Dental Hygienists in Alaska
Course Synopsis: This course is designed to provide dental personnel with a review of the expanded functions available to a dental hygienist in Alaska. A synopsis of the Statutes and Regulations will be presented and will include a review of the criteria and certifications needed to utilize these expanded functions. The course will present a panel of hygienists who utilize these expanded functions and examples of how they obtained certifications and clinical experiences performing these functions. There will be time provided during and at the end of the session for questions from attendees.
